MEET RICHIE
Richie is a lifelong resident of West Virginia. He served his country in Vietnam as a Military Intelligence Officer and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
Richie is a graduate of Marshall University, where he was Captain of the football team and served as senior class president. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School. Richie is an attorney with more than 40 years of legal experience.
At just 29 years old, Richie was elected Mayor of South Charleston. He served in that role until his retirement in 2007. During his tenure, South Charleston was recognized as one of the most prosperous cities in America. Under his leadership, the city saw significant growth and investment, including the construction of the South Charleston Recreation Center and the South Charleston Ice Arena, along with numerous other developments which brought jobs and economic prosperity to South Charleston.
Richie is a husband, father, and grandfather. His wife and son are both public school teachers.
